Funeral services were held, Aug. 3, 2019, at Friendship M. B. Church, Collins,   for Mrs. Betty Jo Berry, 79, who died July 29, 2019 at her residence.  Rev. Randy Miller, pastor, officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Betty Jo Berry was born to the late Louis and Irene McLaurin in Collins.

She joined Friendship M. B. Church and she was married to the late John L. Berry, four children were born to this union.  She retired from Sanderson Farms after working over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by a son, John C. Berry; siblings, William McLaurin, O. C. McLaurin, G. L. McLaurin, James R. McLaurin, Walter McLaurin Sr., G. W. McLaurin, Louis McLaurin Jr. and Mary L. Mc Laurin.

She is survived by three daughters, Brenda (Melvin) Jordan, Barbara Berry, Joanne (Paul) Berry-Flowers; six grandchildren, Veronica McLaurin, Donte McLaurin, Shameka Berry, Lameka Berry,  Kenneth Payne and Ashley Berry; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bettie J. Evans and Dorothy J. McLaurin; many other relatives and friends.
