Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 31, 2019, at Sweetwater C.M.E. Church for Mrs. Betty Ruth Price, 70, who died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019, at her residence.  Rev. Marcus McLaurin officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Betty Price was born to the late Neal and Elois Price in Prentiss.  She joined Blackmon Temple C.M.E. Church at and early age.  She attended Carver High School in Bassfield and later began working as a nursing assistant.  Mrs. Price also worked for Cowboy Jim’s Restaurant and several years at Dirt Cheap Warehouse where she retired.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lovell Price and Jerry Price.

She is survived by daughter, Patricia (Clarence) Age of Lacombe, Louisiana; son, Richard (Mattie) Price of McClain; 10 grandchildren; four sisters, Mary (Louis Charles) Magee, Gail Jenkins, Diane Price and Sabrina (David) Price; four brothers, Harry Price, John E. Price, Robert Price and Jasper (Alice) Price; one aunt, Charlene White and many other relatives and friends.
