Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 23, 2019. at South Pleasant Hill M. B. Church for Mr. John R. Love, 88, who died Monday, Aug. 12, 2019, at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg.

Rev. Robert Collins, pastor, officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. John R. Love was born in West, to the late Isaac and Bertha Riley Love.  He joined Church of God in Christ where he served as a Deacon.  He later moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he met and married Eva Blanchard.  He joined Progressive Baptist Church and became a trustee.  He and his wife later relocated to Prentiss, Mississippi where he joined South Pleasant Hill M. B. Church.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Davell Love, Isaac Love and Monroe Love and one sister, Virginia Love Williams.

He is survived by his wife, Eva L. Love; two sisters, Emma (John) Cain of Anderson, Indiana and Lendell Patrick of Las Vegas, Nevada; one sister-in-law, Connie Love of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; their combined children, two sons, eight daughters, 16 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; god grandson, Bryson Felder of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and many other relatives and friends.
