The Mississippi Center for Justice and the Jefferson Davis County Justice Court are offering an expungement clinic Sept. 23 in Prentiss.

Foreclosure assistance and Snap assistance will be available.

The event will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Jefferson Davis County Courthouse at 2325 Columbia Ave.

Services include the application and preparation of eligible state offenses that occurred in Mississippi for individuals who are being denied employment because of their criminal record.

For assistance, please try to bring the following documents from the law enforcement agency that handled your arrest to the clinic: a copy of the criminal history report, rap sheet, arrest record, or a background check from the sheriff’s department or the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.

For misdemeanor expungements, bring a copy of the abstract of court record related to all misdemeanor offenses.

For felony expungements, bring a copy of all sentencing orders.

For dismissals and all other matters, bring an order of dismissal that contains the date of arrest and the arresting agency and proof that all terms and conditions of your sentence are completed.

These documents can be obtained from the court that handled the court case.
