Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019 at New Life Church of God in Christ, Prentiss, for Mr. Leroy Keys, 89, who died Friday, Oct. 4, 2019 at his residence. Elder Linell Henderson, pastor, officiated with interment following in Green Grove M. B. Church Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Leroy Keys was born to the late George Keys and Eveleana Myers Fox in Jefferson Davis County. He joined South Pleasant Hill M. B. Church and later joined Green Grove M. B. Church where he served as treasurer and later joined New Life Church of God in Christ where he served as deacon. He was married to Ora N. Johnson and to this union, five children were born.

He attended Pineridge Grammar School and Prentiss Institute. Mr. Keys joined the United States Army and was a Korean War veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post 24.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Kendrick Keys and Kalvin Johnson; granddaughter, Olivia Keys.

Mr. Keys is survived by his wife, Ora N. Keys; three sons, Rev. Gregory (Angela) Keys of Petal; Michael Keys and Travis (Erica) Keys both of Hattiesburg; one daughter, Myra Keys (Willie) of Byram; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one goddaughter, Espie J. Brooks of Prentiss; special sister, Katherine Williams; five sisters-in-law and many other relatives and friends.
