The holiday season is a joyous time of the year for many people, but it can be lonely for many of our beloved senior citizens who may not have family or friends to celebrate with.

Please help Southern Mississippi Planning and Development District (SMPDD) put a smile on a senior’s face by donating a gift for the holidays.

Requested donations are blankets, socks, slippers, pajamas, toboggans and sugar free candy.

The donated items will be wrapped and delivered to needy elderly who reside in Jefferson Davis County.

This project is supported by the Jefferson Davis County Board of Supervisors and the mayors of Prentiss and Bassfield.

Collection boxes for items exclusive for the JDC elderly in need are located at Prentiss City Hall, Prentiss Public Library, Jefferson Davis County Chancery Court Building and Hudson Drugs. Please donate by Nov. 12.
