Graveside services for Mrs. Joan Parkman were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019, at the Monticello City Cemetery.

Mrs. Joan Parkman, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, at Aspen of Brookhaven in Brookhaven.  Rev. Kenneth Roberts officiated.

Saulters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Joan Carol Parkman was born on April 12, 1946, in Pascagoula, to John Wilks Speights and Effie Laura Hathorn Speights. She was a banker with Deposit Guaranty. She was affiliated with the Monticello Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, James F. “Bill” Parkman; 2 brothers, Lynn Speights and Dale Speights.

Mrs. Parkman is survived by her daughter, Laura Evans (Tommy) of Monticello and one granddaughter, Molleigh Evans of Monticello.
