Funeral services for Agnes Gilbert were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, 2019, at Saulters Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Gilbert, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019, in Columbia. Rev. Johnny Rush officiated.  Interment followed in the Dublin Cemetery in Prentiss.

Pallbearers were Brandon Grubbs, Zack Peak, Shannon Holifield, Joshua Rush, Dustin Gilbert and David Gilbert. Honorary bearers will be; John Christian, Kendall McPhail and Joey Graves.

Saulters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Lena Agnes Gilbert was born on July 4, 1926, in Bassfield, to Robert Dyess and Hattie Mae Berry Dyess. She was a homemaker and a member of Dublin Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband, James Gilbert; one daughter, Janice Kage Smith and six brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Agnes is survived by three sons; James Allen Gilbert, Joe Wayne Gilbert and Dennis Robert Gilbert all of Prentiss; one daughter, Sandra Peak (Johnny) of Columbia; thirteen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren; three sisters, Martha Lemoyne (Milton) of Port Allen, Louisiana, Jean Lembeck of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Bobbie Stiglets of Denham Springs, Louisiana and one brother, Ralph Dyess (Dottie) of Murray, Utah.

Visitation was Friday, Nov. 29, 2019, from 11 a.m. — 1 p.m. at Saulters Funeral Home.
