Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at Mt. Carmel M. B. Church for Mr. Donald Ray Ross, 58, who died Monday, Nov. 25, 2019 at Asbury Hospice House, Hattiesburg.

Rev. James Dampeer, pastor, officiated with interment following in the Griffith Cemetery, Prentiss.

Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Donald Ross was born to the late A. D. and Mattie Ross in Prentiss. He received his high school diploma from Prentiss High School. He was a member of Mt. Zion M. B. Church and attended Mt. Carmel M. B. Church and was a Mason. Mr. Ross worked as a meat master, truck driver and machine operator.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

He is survived by fiancee, Saronzee Buckley; children, Antonio (Tomeka) Payne of Prentiss; Cruz (Lena) Ross of Bassfield; Michael Enoch of Pinola; Fredrick (Shaniqua) Payne of Tyler, Texas, Taquan Ross of Gulfport, La’Creasha McCoy of Bassfield; Dy’Shuna McCoy of Bassfield; siblings, Elva Jean Ross, Katie (James) Barnes, Augustine (Lee Mar) McInnis, Nellie (Leon) Anderson all of Prentiss; Texanna Nunnery of Summit, Edward Ross of Cary, M. C. Ross of Gulfport, Luddie (Penny) Ross and Richard (Tamar) Ross of Prentiss and many other relatives and friends. Also, special friend, James Barnes.
