Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at Mt. Zion M. B. Church for Mrs. Wynella Griffith White, 74, who died Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.  Rev. Ozell White officiated with interment following in the White Family Cemetery in Prentiss. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wynella White was born to the late Walter and Elizabeth Griffith in Jefferson Davis County. She joined Harmony M. B. Church and moved her membership to Mt. Zion M. B. Church after marriage.  She worked at Collinswood for many years and retired as custodian at Jefferson Davis County Courthouse.  She was married to the late Jewel Lee White Sr. and to this union, three children were born.

She was preceded in death by: granddaughter, Asia Barber; three brothers, Walter Griffith Jr., Billy Griffith and Archie Griffith; three sisters, Lela Mae Ward, Vickie Payton and Virginia White.

She is survived by: son, Jewel (Shequitta) White Jr. and daughters, Frances and Detric (Edward) White; seven grandchildren, siblings, John Walter, J. W. Griffith, Geneva Phillips and Mary Young of Purvis; Annie Wells of Pasadena, California, Stella Griffith of Hattiesburg, Louvella (L. D.) Haynes of Taylorsville and Harolyn (Jimmy) Brown of Prentiss and many other relatives and friends.
