Charles Ray Burnham

Bro. Charles Ray Burnham of Prentiss, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019.

Visitation was held on Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Whitesand Baptist Church in Prentiss.

Visitation was also held from noon until service time on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Whitesand Baptist Church. The burial followed in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Puckett.

Bro.Jonathan Burnham, Bro. David Hays, Bro.Tommy Broom, and Bro.Pete Carter officiated. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee was in charge of arrangements.

Charles Burnham beloved husband, father, pastor, and friend, grew up in Puckett.

He and his wife Shirley enjoyed 50 years of marriage. Bro. Charles surrendered to preach the Gospel at age 16, then served the Lord for over 52 years in Mississippi churches and Central America through pastoring, revivals, mission trips, hospice ministry, disaster relief and much more.

Most recently, he served as pastor of Whitesand Baptist Church in Prentiss, for over 16 years. Bro. Charles’s love and godly influence touched countless people’s hearts for Jesus.

He will always be remembered with love by everyone who knew him.

Bro. Burnham was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Berta Burnham; sisters, Cora Margaret Bell and Shirley Brady and brothers, John Hubert Burnham and William Buster Burnham.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Burnham; daughters, Robin Douglas (Ray) and Marsha Hays (David); son, Jonathan Burnham (Angie); grandchildren, Sam Burnham, Hannah Douglas, Zoe Hays, Aubrey Douglas, Jasper Hays, Maya Hays, Allie Burnham, Sawyer Hays, Micah Burnham, Ava Hays, Eve Hays, Levi Hays and Ellyanna Hays and brothers, Monroe Burnham and Guy Junior Burnham.
