Jefferson Davis County High School was presented a check on behalf of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi for winning its annual text-to-win challenge. The week long contest matched schools and communities against their football opponents in the state championship game. The school in each of the six games that received the most texts to a designated keyword was the winner. Each school received a check for $1,000 designated for its physical education department from BC/BS MS.
“Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi is proud to partner with MHSAA to support student athletics and P.E. programs through the Gridiron Classic and the Text to Win contest,” said Courtney Grimes, Public Relations Specialist for Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi. “High school athletics give students opportunities to establish healthy habits that will last a lifetime. We look forward to a continued partnership with MHSAA to support healthy futures for our students throughout Mississippi.”
