Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019 at Holly Springs C. M. E. Church in Bassfield, for Mr. Noah James Reese, 85, who died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019 at Wesley Hospital in Hattiesburg.  Rev. Eddie Dixon, pastor, officiated with interment following in the Wheeler Cemetery in Bassfield. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Noah James Reese was the only child born to Alfred and Verdee Barnes in Jefferson Davis County.  He worked as a logger and attended school in Jefferson Davis County.  He joined Holly Spring C.M.E. Church.

He was preceded in by his grandparents, Noah (Zula) Barnes and Willie (Ace) Reese.

He is survived by: son, James (Shelia) Reese of Bassfield; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one uncle, Otha (Dorothy) Barnes of Bassfield; one aunt, Owenia (Louis) Bell of Moss Point and special nephew, K. D. Barnes of Bassfield.
