Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020 at Sweetwater C.M.E. Church for Mrs. Bobbie Jean Jefferson, 76, who died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020 at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg. Rev. Roosevelt Price officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bobbie Jean Jefferson was born to the late Bruce and Miley Hathorn Price. She attended Carver High and married the late Leroy Jefferson. She formerly resided in Los Angeles, California and moved back to Bassfield where she began her private sitting duties.

She was preceded in death by step-sister, Irene Ross; brother-in-law, Robert E. Taylor and sister-in-law, Mary C. Price.

She is survived by three sons, Ricky Joe (Margaret) Price of Prentiss; Randy (Gayreon) Jefferson of Jackson, Antonio Jefferson of Bassfield; daughter, Shelia (Benny) Holmes of Bassfield; two brothers, Roosevelt (Maxine) Price of Bassfield and James Price of New Orleans, Louisiana; four sisters, Betty Taylor of Moss Point, MS; Mary (Jesse) Thompson of Avondale, Louisiana, Alberta McCall of Harvey, Louisiana and Frankie (Charles) Postley of Stone Mountain, Georgia; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
