Funeral services for Jack Butler were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at Phalti Baptist Church. Mr. Butler, age 68, passed away from this life on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, in Hattiesburg. Rev. Billy Bridges officiated. Interment followed at the Phalti Baptist Church Cemetery in Clem.
Pallbearers were Jason Layton, Jimmy Butler, Steve McQueen, Norman Hinton, Joe Butler, Greg Higgins, Joey Higgins and Ray Butler.
Saulters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Jack Butler was born Jan. 23, 1951 in Jefferson Davis County, to Ullie Butler and Rogenia Farnham Butler. Mr. Butler was a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with the State of Mississippi. He was a member of Phalti Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; two sisters, Bernice Redfern and Bonnie Redfern and five brothers, David Butler, J.M. Butler, Dan Butler, Guy Butler and John Butler.
Mr. Butler is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lois Butler of Prentiss; one daughter, Crystal Pierce of Gulfport; five grandchildren, Kayleigh Kramer, Nicole Pierce, Danielle Pierce, Karissa Pierce and Alexis Pierce; four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Airanna, Raelynn and Caden; five sisters, Willie Mae Hinton, Janie McPhail, Grace Higgins, Patsy Little and Dorothy Mitchell; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Saulters Funeral Home.
Another visitation was held Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 from 1:30 until 3 p.m. at Phalti Baptist Church.
