Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020 at Pleasant Grove M. B. Church in Silver Creek, Mississippi for Mrs. Voncile Taylor Smith, 66, who died Friday, Jan. 17, 2020, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. Rev. Micheal Evans officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Voncile Smith was born to the late Lonnie and Georgeanna Taylor Smith. She graduated from New Hebron Attendance Center in 1971 and later obtained an Associate’s Degree in Business from Prentiss Institute. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Pleasant Grove M. B. Church.

She worked at New Hebron Garment Factory, Columbia Training Center and Sanderson Farms.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Calvin Taylor, Alvin Taylor, James Taylor and Hollis J. Taylor.

She is survived by six children, Erica Smith, Monica Smith, Timothy (Veronica) Smith, Cornelius (Stephanie) Taylor, Michael Taylor and Edward (Angela) Taylor; 15 grandchildren; siblings, Samuel Taylor, Jeralene Taylor, Leronie Taylor; many other relatives and friends.
