Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, at Progress M. B.
Church in Bassfield for Mr. Fervil Martin, 72, who died Saturday, Feb.
22, 2020, at his residence. Rev. Maxine Price officiated with
interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was
in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Fervil Martin is the son of Mrs. Geneva Martin. He attended school
at Hawpond and Carver High School and attended Job Corps. Mr. Martin
was employed at Ingalls in Pacagoula and retired from Northrop Grumman
with a 30-year tenure.
Mr. Martin was married to Janie Harper and to this union six children
were born.
He was preceded in death by grandson, Jaylan Martin.
He is survived by his wife, Janie Martin and mother, Geneva Martin
both of Bassfield; four sons, Fervil (Michelle) Martin and Regiel
(Onieda) Martin both of Daphne, Alabama; Gerald (Jessica) Martin of
Carson; and Darrell (Wanda) Martin of Bassfield; two daughters, Aisha
(Eugene) Stubbs of Hattiesburg; Taterricka Harper of Bassfield; 16
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many other relatives and
friends.
