Funeral services were held Saturday, March 21, 2020, at New Zion M. B. Church in Oakvale  for Mrs. Eva Lois Hammond, 64, who died Sunday, March 15, 2020, at her residence.

Rev. Korey Langston officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Eva Lois Hammond was born to the late Charles Lee and Ruth Williams in New Orleans, Louisiana.

She was a member of New Zion M. B. Church and was well known in the Oakvale community.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Ellis Haynes Jr. and Alvin Williams.

She is survived by her husband, Romia Hammond of Oakvale; two children, Tamika Davis of Moss Point and son, Mingo (Renell) Javery III of New Orleans, Louisiana; three sisters, Mary (Norris) Batiste of Slidell, Louisiana, Annie Williams and Donna Williams both of Moss Point; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; best friend, Debra Faye of Oakvale and many other relatives and friends.
