Elois Thompson Graves

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 9, 2020, at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Elois Thompson Graves, 80, who died Sunday, May 3, 2020, at her residence. Rev. Holborook officiated with interment following in the Owen Griffith Cemetery in Bassfield.
Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Elois Graves was born to the late Willie and Zetter Thompson in Carson. She was married to the late Charles A. Graves and to this union six children and two adopted sons were born.
She joined Sweetwater C.M.E. Church at an early age and was an usher for many years.
Mrs. Graves worked at Neco Manufacturing Company until retirement.
She was preceded in death by: mother-in-law, Jessie R. Thompson, two sisters, Carolyn and Mary Jane Thompson; two brothers, Willie E. Thompson and James Ball.
She is survived by: six sons, Charles (Hazel) Thompson, Joe (Jacqueline) Thompson, Patrick (Eula) Graves, James (Leshia) Graves, Brandon Graves all of Bassfield; Darren Graves of Ocean Springs; two daughters, Antweatta Graves and Sandra (Randy) Blackmon of Bassfield; three sisters, Minnie R. Parker of Erie, Pennsylvania, Eloise Fortenberry of Carson, and Virginia A. Bryant of Hattiesburg; two brothers, Zebedee (Fanny) Thompson and Kennedy Thompson both of Erie, Pennsylvania; brother-in-law, Gregory Thompson, Sr.; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; special friends, Lydia Echols, Louise Fortenberry, Bertha Graves, Willie C. Graves, Georgia Polk and Bettie Thompson and many other relatives and friends.
