A Memorial Day program will be held May 25 on the courthouse lawn, however, no spectators will be allowed to attend the annual event due to COVID-19.
Jefferson Davis County Veterans Service Officer Joe Bridges met with the board of supervisors Monday morning to discuss the event.
“I just wanted to update the board and let everyone know this ceremony will still take place this year, as every year, even though we can’t allow the public to attend,” said Bridges.
The 10 a.m. ceremony will consist of prayer, placing the wreath and flags, reading of names and the playing of Taps.
