Local libraries opening June 22 to the public

Both Jefferson Davis County public libraries will resume regular hours soon and be open to the public.

The Prentiss Public Library and the Dr. Frank L Leggett Public Library in Bassfield will be open for public access on June 22.

Hours for the Prentiss Library are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Hours on Tuesday and Thursday are from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.

“There will still be some restriction on social distancing and the number of people allowed in the library at one time,” said Jefferson Davis County Library Supervisor Jackie Miller.

“But we are happy to be opening back up and are excited to see everyone.”

The Prentiss Public Library is located at 2229 Pearl Ave. in Prentiss and can be reached at 601-792-5845.

The Dr. Frank L. Leggett Public Library is located at 261-A General Robert E. Blount Drive in Bassfield and can be reached at 601-943-5420.
