Funeral services were held Saturday, June 13, 2020 at Springhill M. B. Church for Mrs. Martha Floyd, 76, who died Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg.

Rev. Roy Thompson officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Martha Floyd was born to the late James Gholar and Pauline Jordan.  She attended school at Oakley Elementary and graduated from Pine Bluff High School.  Mrs. Floyd moved to Bastrop, Louisiana where she met and married the late Matthew Floyd.  She was a member of Springhill M. B. Church.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Jessie E. Washington, Sonny R. Washington, Roy Jordan, Terry Jordan and Woodie Blackmon.

Mrs. Floyd is survived by five children: Barbara Black of Dallas, Texas, Kathy Armstrong, Patricia Floyd, Lisa Black and Calvin Floyd all of Prentiss; eight siblings, Robert Gray of Gulfport, MS, Eddie Jordan of Vancouver, Washington, Billy Gray of Portland, Oregon, Carolyn Rhodes, Charles Gholar, Hallon Gholar, Leon Gholar and Dennis Barnes all of Prentiss; nine grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
