M. L. Arrington Wellness Center back open to the public
The M.L. Arrington Wellness Center is now back open to the public.
“The center has been painted, carpet removed, member check-in revamped and everything cleaned and sanitized with the goal of creating a more sanitary environment for our members,” said fitness coordinator Pam Johnson.
Some of the steps being incorporated at the center are:
Employees will have oral temperature checked and logged before beginning each shift. Temperatures over 100.4 or declination of any symptoms will preclude the employee from being able to work.
Employees will not present for work if they feel ill or have been tested for COVID-19.
Members will be pre-screened for safe admittance.
Anyone with a temperature over 100.4 or symptoms of COVID-19 precludes admittance.
Members will stop six feet away from the check-in desk to complete screening and check-in.
Members will wait in line with a six foot distance and will maintain a six foot distance from other members and employees.
Members will sanitize their hands prior to checking in and will be encouraged to wear masks when not actively working out.
Members will sanitize each piece of equipment after use and will be encouraged to sanitize their hands often during their work out.
Employees will sanitize equipment and high touch areas every two hours.
Employees will wear a mask anytime they are within six feet of any other person or if they are traversing the center. The only time they may be unmasked is when they are stationed at “check in” and no one is within six feet.
Employees will remove garbage and clean and disinfect locker rooms and bathrooms at the end of each day.
Employees will dust mop the floor at the end of each day.
Employees will mop the floor with disinfectant at the end of each week or as needed.
“We are committed to ensuring the wellness of our community, our members and our employees during this time,” said Jefferson Davis Community Hospital Administrator Alania Cedillo.
“We hope you enjoy the updated wellness center.”
The center is open Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. until 7:30 p.m., Friday from 6 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
The center is located at 1110 Berry Street and can be reached at 601-792-1185.
