Funeral services were held Friday, July 3, 2020, at China Lee M. B. Church in Silver Creek, for Mr. Willie Toney, 71, who died Sunday, June 21, 2020, at Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson.  Rev. Johnnie Williams officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Willie Toney was born to the late Clara and A. B. Toney. He was raised by Walter and Nonna Toney.  He graduated from J. E. Johnson High School in 1967.  He was a member of Shady Grove M. B. Church. He met and married Mrs. Ida Stewart Toney in 1971 and they had three children.

Mr. Toney served in the United States Army where he was in the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge.  He worked at Joe Miles Lumber in Silver Creek, for 26 years. He was a member of the Masonic Brotherhood.

He is preceded in death by daughter, Nonna Toney; stepmother, Mary Toney; sister, Robin Graves; brothers, Cornelius Toney, Henry Toney, Larry Graves and Larry Toney.

He is survived by: wife, Ida Toney; daughter Isha (Candace) Toney; son, Willie (Tika) Toney, II; three grandchildren, brothers, James (Sharon) Graves, Avery (Debra) Toney, LaVerne Toney, Robert Toney, Seggie Toney, Jerry Graves and Joseph (Linda) Toney; sisters, Mildred (Ricky) Joseph, Evelyn (Bob) Semore, Ernestine (Ulysses) Jamison, Joanie Graves, Marie Toney and many other relatives and friends.
