Graveside services were held, Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Springhill M. B. Church for Mr. Garrick Lamar “P-Nut” Oatis, 49, who died Thursday, July 2, 2020, at his residence.  Minister Elsie Rhodes officiated with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Garrick Oatis was born in Laurel,to Mrs. Wyvonne Oatis.  He graduated from Prentiss High School and later served in the U. S. Navy where he received an honorable discharge.

Mr. Oatis married Mrs. Irana Powell Oatis in 1997.  He is the father of Tokeemo, Jonathan, Kayla, Natavia, Devonte, Daniya and Brittany.

He is survived by his mother, Wyvonne Oatis; four sisters, Rebecca (Gary) Leggett, Phyllis (Herbert) Washington both of Prentiss, Bertha (George) Smith of Chicago, Illinois; Turetta Oatis of Prentiss; three brothers, Levester (Rosie) Rhodes of Mendenhall; Milton Oatis of Prentiss; Gregory (Denise) Oatis of New Hebron and three grandchildren.
