Malcolm “Mac” Stein, 91, of Prentiss passed away on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, .
A graveside service was held on Monday, Sept. 7, 2020, at 2 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Carson. A visitation was held at the cemetery from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.
Mr. Stein was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Bassfield where he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus.
He proudly served his country in the Air Force. He retired from Georgia Pacific, where he worked as the Power House Supervisor.
He enjoyed his time on the Georgia Pacific catfish cooking team. He was an avid carpenter, fisherman, and an avid follower of his grandkid’s sporting events.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Margaret Poche’ Stein; his parents, Louis and Ida Stein; his son, Randy Stein and one sister, Rose Tregre.
He was survived by three children, Mona (Ronnie) McNease of Prentiss, Terry (Sandra) Stein of Mendenhall, and Cindy (Charles) Ratcliff of Carson; one daughter-in-law, Renee’ Stein of Hattiesburg; a close family friend, Tommy Iovino of Prentiss; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anna “Belle” Ockman, Linda Madere and Veronica “Ronnie” Kesler and numerous nieces and nephews.
