Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020, at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Alphonso Ray McClendon, 34, who died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, in Gary, Indiana. Rev. Maxie Lowe Jr. officiated with interment following in Christ Temple Church of Christ Cemetery, Oakvale. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Alfonso Ray McClendon was born in Collins, to Mrs. Valerie Bourne McClendon and Mr. Wilbert McClendon; the oldest of six children. He moved to Gary, Indiana in 1990 and attended and graduated from William A. Wirt High School. He passed away with his fiance, Jaclyn Dazzena.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Aaliyah McClendon; grandparents, Roosevelt and Willie Bourne and Jessie Lee McClendon; brother, Aaron J. McClendon; two nephews, Cayden Lockhart and Cameron Daniels and two aunts and three uncles.

He is survived by his mother, Valerie Bourne-McClendon; father, Wilbert McClendon; four children, Quwaun McClendon, Savannah McClendon, Aarielle McClendon and Alfonso McClendon, Jr.; five sisters, Ashley McClendon, Alexis Barefield, Christian Pompy, Amari Gary and Chanquetta Milton and many other relatives and friends.
