A prisoner in the Jefferson Davis County jail died last Tuesday afternoon.

Kenneth Wayne Douglas,  45, of 29 Clarence Lott Road in Carson, was found unresponsive in his jail cell just after 5 p.m. on Nov. 3.

Witnesses on the scene were interviewed and the body was sent to the Mississippi State Crime Lab.

Authorities are awaiting autopsy results for cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.

Douglas was arrested Oct. 30,  by a Prentiss Police Officer and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
