Sean Wilson was shot and killed Friday morning in Bassfield.

Wilson, 22, of Petal, was in a vehicle on Washington Avenue when an altercation ensued with a group in another vehicle and gunfire was exchanged.

Cain Booth, 26, of Bassfield, turned himself in to the Jefferson Davis County Sheriff’s Office as Wilson’s shooter and gave a statement to investigators.

No charges have been filed at this time.

The case will be presented to the grand jury.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Jefferson Davis County Sheriff’s Department with the investigation.
