Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, at Spring Hill Baptist Church for Mrs. Essie Lou Jessie Gholar Longino, 104, who died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, at her residence.

Pastor James Harrell Jr. officiated with interment following Zion Hill Church of God in Christ Cemetery, Prentiss.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mother Essie Longino was born to the late Eddie and Willie Mikell Gholar in Jefferson Davis County.  She met and married the late Caliph Longino; six children were born to this union.  Mother Essie joined Zion Hill Church of God in Christ at an early age.

She was preceded in death by five children and all siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Queen Hooker of Hattiesburg; special daughter, Robin Longino-Turner; one Goddaughter, Sheneice Logan; 60 plus grandchildren; 40 plus great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
