Members of the Jefferson Davis County School Board have been discussing the change to a year-round school year. The change would shorten the summer break, but extend the Christmas Holiday and Spring Break, as well as provide a two week break at the end of each nine week term. A vote was taken by the teachers regarding this change, just over 50 percent did not want the change. When taken to a vote, Bobby Wilson made a motion to change the calendar to year-round school. The item died for lack of a second.
