Lula Mae Ross Bass celebrated her 100th birthday on Feb. 3 at her home among family and friends.

She was born Feb. 3, 1921, and was reared and educated in Jefferson Davis County.

Bass is the mother of five children and the wife of the late Clarence Douglas Bass.

For 30 years, she worked as an insurance agent for Johnson’s Funeral Home in Prentiss.

Amazingly, Bass’s mom, Lula Jones Ross, also lived to be 100 years old.

She accredits her longevity to clean living and blessings from the good Lord
