On  April 2 at 8 a.m., the Prentiss Fire Department will be hosting its first annual remembrance walk. This, of course, is in remembrance of the walk Jesus Christ took on his way to be crucified. “We will be carrying a wooden cross during this walk,” said Prentiss Fire Chief Wayne Bass.  “Let this be an open invitation to all surrounding first responders and anyone that would like to participate is welcome to.” The walk will start at the Ronald Wayne Jones Memorial Complex on Hwy. 184 in and travel down Columbia Ave. through Prentiss. If you plan on participating in the walk please try to arrive by 7:30 a.m. that morning. “A special thanks to Mayor Charley Dumas and the Prentiss Board of Aldermen for this opportunity.” “Let’s come together in remembrance of the one who paid the ultimate sacrifice so that one day we may have everlasting life.”
