Graveside services were held Saturday, March 20, 2021, at New Zion Baptist Church in Oakvale, for Mr. Emit Ray Bridges, 55, who died Saturday, March 6, 2021, at The Care Center of Laurel.

Rev. Korey Langston officiated with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bridges was born to the late Fleta and Moses Bridges. He attended New Zion Baptist Church.  He loved fishing, hunting and job as a mechanic. He was in a bad accident that changed his life in 2019.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Fayette Bridges and two half brothers, Warren Bridges and Saggie Bridges.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Bridges; son, Demarcus Bridges; daughter, Darion (Tressie) of Pinola; other children, Torrie Sandifer of Collins, Lorrie (Dana) Turner of Hattiesburg, Lamont (Quanda) Sandifer of New Hebron; Melvin Sandifer, Laressa (Shun) Hobbs; siblings, Mary Bridges of Houston, Texas, Hattie Pittman of Silver Creek; Milton (Sandra) Bridges of Jackson; Michael (Rosa) Bridges of Prentiss; Gwendolyn Bridges of Houston, Texas and dear friend Tony Ford of Silver Creek.
