Absentee voting now open for municipal elections

Absentee voting is now open for Prentiss and Bassfield upcoming municipal elections.

Prentiss City Hall will be open May 3-7 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. (including the noon hour)  and May 8 from 8 a.m. until noon for voter registration and absentee voting.

Regular office hours are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and closed from noon until 1 p.m. for lunch.

The office will also be open for absentee voting from 8 a.m. until noon May 29.

Absentee voting will end at noon on May 29.

Candidates in Prentiss will run as Independent candidates and were required to obtain 50 signatures from registered voters inside the Prentiss city limits.

Prentiss Mayor Charley Dumas is unopposed.

Candidates for Prentiss Alderman are Willie Davis, Patti King, Rudy McNeese, Hal “Moochie” Speights, Randy Stamps and Robert Young.

Candidates in Bassfield will run as Independent candidates which required 15 signatures from registered voters inside the Bassfield city limits.

Angie Speights Ladner is running unopposed for Mayor of Bassfield.

Bassfield Alderman candidates are Lisa Blount, Kathy Gentry, Will Hendry, Erin Lee, Grant Tyler Matthews, Ken Roberts, James Speck and Robert Thompson.
