Stay involved with 4-H during the summer

4-H doesn’t stop when school gets out for summer. There are lots of ways to stay involved during the summer.

This year JDC youth will not only have the opportunity to attend a week long outdoor exploration camp but many other activities So, if your child is interested in any of the following they need to be on the 4-H path to fun:

June 8 from 9-11 a.m. or 3-5 p.m.: 4-H Paint Party for 9-18 year old. Registration required. Spots limited.

June 21- 25, from 9-12 noon, each day: 4-H Exploration Camp at Double Ox Farm, 37 Miller Road, Prentiss, for 5th and 6th grade youth. Registration is required and spots are limited.

July 6 from 9-11 a.m. or 3-5 p.m.: 4-H Crazy 8’s club Enjoy learning by doing with glow in the dark geometry, daring darts, bouncy dice explosion and more for 8-14 years old. Registration is required and spots are limited.

July 15 from  9-11:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m.-5 p.m.: Felt Flower Wreath Make and Take- for 8-18 years old. Registration is required and spots are limited.

“June is Dairy Month so we have a 4-H Dairy Poster Contest for 9-18 year olds,” said JDC Extension Agent Latonya Ramsey.  Dairy Swag Bags will be given to every participant and prizes will be awarded in first, second and third place in age group 9-13 and 14-18.
