The Jefferson Davis County School Board has scheduled a hearing for Jefferson Davis County Superintendent Dexter Jordan in reference to a personnel matter.
“This is standard procedure when there is a personnel matter of a certain nature,” said Jefferson Davis County School Board President Von Norwood.
“This is a hearing so the superintendent can openly discuss personnel matters with the board.”
The superintendent’s contract states that he will be evaluated by the board before his contractual period ends, which is June 30. “This hearing is related to his evaluation and contract.”
John S. Hooks, an education attorney with Adams and Reese in Jackson will oversee the closed session hearing.
The board intends to hold the hearing sometime this month, however, a hearing officer has to be selected before a date can be set.
