Beverly was born in Prentiss, on July 7, 1947, to Homer “Pete” and Nellie Hutchinson Saulters. Among her many passions in life, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and working in her flowers.  Beverly loved to raise a garden and share her canned vegetables with those she loved.  “Sister Gatwood” as she was affectionately called by many, loved God’s Word.  One of the family’s dearest possessions is her Bible.  Its pages filled with notes, it is worn and tattered; reflecting many hours of study and communion with her Lord.  She taught children in Sunday School for many years and was a faithful member of Prentiss Apostolic church.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband; Tommy Gatwood of Prentiss; three daughters, Deana Bass (Jack) and Stacie Smith, both of Prentiss, Twyla Steverson of Hattiesburg;  one Sister, Vicky Delk of Prentiss and one brother, Randy Saulters of Prentiss.

She also leaves behind six grandchildren; Dustin McPhail, Malorie Clark, Alaina Anderson, Evan Smith, Hannah Steverson and Seth Steverson;  10 great grandchildren, Connor McPhail, Payton McPhail, Henley McPhail, Jaylee Clark, Macie Clark, Ashton Anderson, Amelia Anderson, Landen Smith, Grayson Smith and Kolten Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Nellie Saulters; a sister; Nell McRaney and a son-in-law, Warren Smith.

Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday evening, June 14, 2021, at the Prentiss Apostolic Church.
