Prentiss native to perform at Red, Hot and Blues

Bridget Hathorn-Shield will be performing at Red, Hot and Blues July 4 at ballpark in Lucas just off Hwy 84.
Hathorn-Shield is a native of Prentiss and is the daughter of Robert and Alice Hathorn.
She is a 1987 graduate of Prentiss High School, a 1991 graduate of Tougaloo College and a 1994 graduate of Jackson State University. While attending Tougaloo College, she represented the prestigious college as Miss Tougaloo College 1990-1991.
Hathorn-Shield has been given the title of a Southern Soul, R&B, NeoSoul songbird. She was the 2015 Jackson Rhythm & Blues Festival Idol Winner and was given the opportunity to perform at the Jackson Rhythm & Blues Festival on several lineups.
Since that time, she has soared with her music career. Hathorn-Shield has performed at many venues and southern soul events in and around Mississippi, as well as surrounding areas including Louisiana and Florida. She has also been the opening act for R& B and Southern Soul artists such as Monica, Adina Howard, Calvin Richardson, Omar Cunningham and Vic Allen. Her love for Southern Soul Music has also put her in the lineup among some of the best Southern Soul Artists in the industry.
Hathorn-Shield recently wrote two original singles and teamed up with three awesome producers from Jackson to create her own vision. “Miss Goodie” and “Let Me See It” can be heard on all digital outlets and local radio stations in the surrounding areas. Hathorn-Shield enjoys writing/performing and will continue to share her talents with the world.
