Funeral services for Mr. Timothy M. “Mike” Dyess was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.  Mr. Dyess, age 59, passed away from this life on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at his residence in Oakvale.  Rev. Tommy Broom and Rev. Eddie Myers officiated.  Interment followed in Society Hill Cemetery.

Saulters Moore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were, Kevin Dyess, Brandon Dyess, Ashley Reid, Tristen Reid, Zach Hurst and Christin Broom.  Honorary Bearers were, Zeke Hurst and Ezra Hurst.

Timothy Michael Dyess was born on August 25, 1961, in Prentiss, to Mack and Marjorie Allen Dyess.  An avid outdoorsman, Mike enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as golf.  In addition, he was a NASCAR fan. Mike worked for B & P Swab Services in the oilfield industry for 29 years.  He was a member of Society Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mack and Marjorie Dyess, two brothers, David Dyess and Greg Dyess; one sister, Karen Sylvest and one great-grandchild, Jackson Kramer.

Mr. Dyess is survived by his wife, Vera Dyess of Oakvale; three sons, Jeffrey Pierce of Vidor, Texas, Micheal Goddard (Ashley) of Collins, and Timothy Dyess Jr. of Oakvale; two daughters, Sara Dyess (Fiance’, Karl) of Loranger, Louisiana and Carrie Davis (Randy) of Columbia; two brothers, Randy Dyess (Freda) of Columbia and Terry Dyess (Christie) of Oakvale; 12 grandchildren, Kayleigh Kramer (Lee), Nicole Pierce, Danielle Pierce, Karrissa Pierce, Brixtyn Pierce, Blakelyn Pierce, Olivia Pierce, Emalie Davis, RJ Davis, Sophia Gardina, Liam Gardina, and Lilly Gardina and five great grandchildren; Hunter, Arianna, Caden, Raelynn and Laedynn.

Visitation was Saturday, July 31, 2021, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home
