Robert Lee Graves

Graveside services for Mr. Robert Lee “Gushie” Graves, 60, of Collins, (formerly of Bassfield) were held on Tuesday, Aug, 10, 2021, at 11 a.m.  from Progress Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Bassfield.  Pastor Kenneth Harrison officiated.  Reeves Funeral Home, Inc. of Mount Olive was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Graves passed away Aug. 4, 2021.

Mr. Graves attended Bassfield High School and was a devoted employee of Benton Construction in Collins for over 20 years.  He was well known as a smart, witty character who loved horses.  He was known as “Gushie” to some and D. J. Ram to others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Earl Graves and Murtle Mae Miles Graves; brothers, Willie and Jessie Graves; sister, Debbie Graves and his daughter, Aquanetta Barnes.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Graves of Collins; five daughters, Tycie Barnes, Brittany Graves, Kadisha (Justin) Daniels, all of Collins; Neketa-(Eric) Holloway-McCray and Kelisha Holloway of Prentiss, Sheneil Price of Bassfield; one son, Ricky Russell; sisters, Ollie Mae (Lonnie) Knight of Bassfield, Marcia (Rober) Gardin of Hampton, Virginia, Ruth(James) Brown of Moss Point and Bertha McLeod of Pascagoula;  brothers, Lonnie Ray Graves of Bassfield, Ray (Tasha) Graves of Petal and Martin (Sheila) Graves of Pascagoula and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
