Graveside services were held Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, at Griffith Cemetery in Prentiss, for Mrs. Mary Louise Gray, 75, who died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Rev. James Dampeer officiated with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. Mary Louise Gray, one of 11 children born to the late M. L. and Hattie Pope Gray. She began her education in Prentiss, and worked at Sanderson Farms for over 13 years. Mrs. Gray was affectionately known as “Nanna.

She joined Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at an early age and remained a member until her death. 

She was preceded in death by four brothers, R. L., C. L., Paul and Jimmy Gray; four sisters, Laurine, Earlene, Gearlene and Darlene. 

She is survived by four sons, James (LaJoyce) Gray, Earnest (Nekeidra) Gray, Rodney Gray, Kermit Gray, four daughters, Brenda Hall, Lisa Lott, Tessa Gray, Shelia (Jeremiah) Woodard; one sister, Lucille McNair; one brother, Billy Gray all of Mt. Olive; 24 grandchildren; special friend, Peggy McDonald; nine great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
