Carl Ray Longino

Memorial services were held Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at Ruby K. Johnson Chapel, Prentiss, Mississippi for Mr. Carl Ray “Cool” Longino, 60, who died Monday, Aug. 30, 2021, in Jefferson Davis County, Mississippi. Rev. Jessie Holloway officiated with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Carl Ray Longino was born in Jefferson Davis County to the late Mamie Lee Longino and Lee Vern Walker. He received his education at Oakley and J. E. Johnson School. Carl was known as “Cool” to this friends. He began his working career at Magnetek Industrial Plant and H. G. Magee before moving to Texas where he worked for Universal Pole Line for many years. He returned home and began working for Circle S in New Hebron and later went back to Texas to Universal Pole Line before becoming disabled. 

Mr. Longino joined Springhill Baptist Church and later joined Mary Grove Baptist Church in Magee, Mississippi where he remained a faithful member until death.

He was married to Lisa Hill and to this union, two children were born, Karl Keith and Taylor. 

He was preceded in death by one sister, Lola Bell Longino; brother, Gary Longino; two sisters-in-law, Diane Longino and Barbara Hill and father-in-law, Adam Blanchard.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Longino of Prentiss; two sons, Devario Evans of Flagstaff, Arizona, Karl (Octavia) Longino; one daughter, Taylor Longino both of Prentiss; God son, Martez (Deja) Hopkins of Tallulah, Louisiana; seven grandchildren; eight sisters, Glenda Longino of Bassfield; Eloise (Lorenzo) Longino, Carolyn Longino, Patricia (Christopher) Longino, Latrenda (Lamont) Rogers all of Prentiss; Phillis (Joseph) Drummond of D’Lo; Carolyn (Charles) Barnes of Hattiesburg; and Verna (Jerr) Williams of Silver Creek; two brothers, Kenneth Longino of Montgomery, Texas and Phil Longino of D’Lo; special aunt, Annie Mae Gholar of Saratoga, Florida; three very special people, Mary L. Blanchard, Linda Hill and Christopher Hill and many other relatives and friends.
