Prentiss Mayor Charley Dumas visited the Mrs. Billie Everett’s Third Grade Class at Prentiss Christian School last week. Mayor Dumas talked to the students about the history and government of Prentiss.

According to Mrs. Everett, the students really enjoyed the mayor and learning about how the Town of Prentiss was Founded.

“They were also captivated by the story about Bonnie and Clyde’s gang members that robbed the bank in Prentiss and took a hostage!”

Many questions the children asked were about the robbery as well as what year Prentiss became an actual town.

“We really appreciate him taking the time to come visit our class.”

Mayor Dumas meets with the Third Grade each year.

“I enjoy our annual visit,” said Dumas. “It is always interesting to hear their questions and what excites them about the Town’s history.”
