Bobby Louis Burrow

Graveside services for Mr. Bobby Louis (Bob) Burrow will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, at Whitesand Cemetery. Mr. Burrow, age 85, passed away from this life on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at his residence in Prentiss.  Rev. Ted Bowlin officiated.

Saulters-Moore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bob was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church. He was born on Jan. 20, 1936, to Louis (Luke) and Ruby Hamilton Burrow. He served in the United States Army for two years as a chaplain’s assistant. His career included manager of the men’s department at Woolco in Hattiesburg for many years where he earned several awards for his department. After Woolco closed, he worked with a catering company offshore before retiring.  Bob then worked at Walmart in Magee for many years before becoming disabled.

Bobby was a gifted musician and studied at the University of Southern Mississippi. Bob loved to keep a manicured lawn and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. One of his favorite hobbies was crocheting. It brought him great joy to give away his beautiful crocheted pieces.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Ruby Burrow, a son, Sean Burrow, a daughter, Teresa Kay Burrow Elliot and two brothers, Ronnie Burrow and Larry Burrow.

He is survived by his wife, Violet Gatwood Burrow of Prentiss; one son, Terry (Stephanie) Burrow of Forest, three grandchildren, Katelyn (Clayton)Harrison Noblin, Will Burrow of Forest and Justin (Gabby) Burrow of Seminary and three great grandchildren, and a sister, Linda Burrow Pace of Prentiss and a brother, Donnie Burrow of Flowood. He is also leaves behind two nieces and two nephews.
