Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at Springhill Baptist Church in Silver Creek,for Mr. Dexter Smith, 55, who died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021 at his residence. Rev. Roy Thompson officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dexter Smith was born to Miss Mary Lou Smith in Prentiss.  He was a member of Springhill Baptist Church were he was the time keeper for the Sunday School, Trustee and an usher. He graduated from Prentiss High School in 1985 and attended Mississippi Job Corps in Crystal Springs.

He worked with Quick Clean in New Hebron and Southern Pine Electric Power Association-Carson Line until his health failed him.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Smith; god sisters, Vanessa Stewart of Baltimore, Maryland; Linda Lewis of Picayune and many other relatives and friends.
