Mrs. Buckley was born on Oct. 24, 1946, in Columbia to Kermit and Juanita Polk Hathorn. She and her husband, Joe, enjoyed over 50 years of marriage.  Mrs. Buckley was a retired beautician. Aside from her career, she and her husband enjoyed showing horses in their younger years. “Pete” as she was affectionately known, was the rock of her family. Besides her own children, “MawMaw” especially loved her grandson, Brady, and treated her grand-nieces and nephews as her own grandchildren.  Pete doted over her family and loved to cook for them.  In addition to the sweets that she enjoyed making, she had a fondness for fried chicken and was known for her cheesecake.  Pete had a gift for working with her hands.  It is said that she could fix nearly anything and was talented in making wood crafts such as signs, plaques, and also furniture.  Pete was a member of Prentiss Baptist Church.
