Poem had many interests. She loved to be outdoors and enjoyed sports, especially if it included one of her boys. She loved to fish and some of her favorite trips were with Doraleen, Susan and Nelson fishing off the Louisiana coast. She was the chief fishing instructor for her great nieces, nephews and grandboys at the camp, but everyone had to bait their own hook and take their own fish off the line. Poem loved going to the beach and hanging out with her YaYa’s. She loved a parade or celebration of any kind. One of her favorite things was exploring Bay St. Louis in the “bug” with her sister, Gayle.

Poem is survived by her husband of 44 years, Billy Weems and her son, Jason “Bo” Weems (Allison) and the loves of her life, her grandsons, Rhett and Bowen Weems. One sister, Gayle Shifalo (Tony), a brother-in-law, Frankie Weems (Beverly), a sister-in-law Elaine Johnson (Bill) and a host of nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.

Poem is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lou and Strom Holloway, sisters, Ann Stamps and Patsy Speights, brother Joe Holloway and in-laws Eugene and Irene Weems.

A celebration of her life was held at Madison United Methodist Church on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022. Visitation was from 9:30-11 a.m. with the service beginning at 11 a.m.
