Clara Hazel Bridges was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Jefferson Davis County to Ethel and Susie Lee Butler.  Hazel enjoyed sewing and was a member of the Annie Lou Hayman Quilting Club.  She also loved to cook and church dinners were not complete without her delicious Apple Tarts. Hazel was also known to have a “Green Thumb” and loved to garden.  It has been said that she could take a cutting of any rose, stick it in water, and that it would root.  Hazel was a loving Mother and Mamaw to her grandchildren, through which her legacy will live on.  She was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church.
