JDCH student injured in accident with 18-wheeler

A senior at Jefferson Davis County High School was injured in an accident Monday morning at Highway 84 and Highway 42 in Prentiss. According to authorities, a silver Infinity, driven by the student, was traveling from New Hebron and crossed in front of the path of a transport truck driven by Curtis Jones of Hot Coffee. Jones, driving for Ashley Transport of Raleigh, was headed to Georgia Pacific in Monticello with a load of chip wood and was uninjured.
The student was transported with life-threatening injuries to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg by Rescue 7. The passenger of the vehicle was transported by AAA to Jefferson Davis Community Hospital.
